Waves forming now
Loading today's waves.
Looks coordinated
These clusters grew fast too. The way they grew matches patterns that coordinated publishing leaves behind. The flags are heuristics, not verdicts. Open a few repos and judge for yourself.
How it works
- Fetch
Pull every repo created in the last 14 days with 40 or more stars from the GitHub search API, plus a baseline of repos from the 60 days before with 150 or more.
- Split into terms
Turn each repo into terms: words from its name and description, plus its topics. Repos whose terms match another owner's repo at 60% or more are set aside as clones.
- Find bursts
For each term, divide its recent repos by the number the baseline predicts. A term needs 5 or more repos and a burst of 3 or more.
- Merge into waves
Merge bursting terms whose repos overlap by 40% or more. Each group is a wave, ranked by stars per day, with 14 days of star history.
- Flag
Flag a wave when 60% or more of its repos were created on one day, when it has fewer owners than half its repos, when its top repo holds under 10% of the stars, or when it is built from clones.
